The Driscoll’s story –

The Driscoll’s story started in 1904, when friends Joseph ‘Ed’  Reiter and R.O. Driscoll began producing flavourful Sweet Briar strawberries in California’s Pajaro Valley. More than a century later the Driscoll’s tradition of family farming endures. Today Driscoll’s is globally active in building the Driscoll’s brand with its renowned quality in berries.

First and foremost, Driscoll’s mission is to continually delight berry consumers through alignment with their customers and berry growers. In order to fulfil this mission Driscoll’s continually works to optimise quality, taste and the visual aspects of their berries. Driscoll’s in New Zealand –

The Driscoll’s name was brought to New Zealand in 2016, when a partnership was formed with The Fresh Berry Company. One of New Zealand’s leading berry sales and marketing companies, we have a strong network of local growers focused on quality berry production for distribution for export and the New Zealand domestic market.

We grow our own berries through our subsidiary Berry Farms NZ, and continue to expand the production of Driscoll’s berries in New Zealand through Berry Farms NZ and other independent farmers around the country. Keen advocates of protected cropping, Driscoll’s berries are grown under tunnels in substrate and fertigated. These new generation farming technique ensure consistent supply and unrivalled longevity.

The Fresh Berry Company is led by a team of highly knowledgeable agronomists and berry experts, and as part of the Driscoll’s family we also have access to a global agronomy network. That means we receive support from world authorities who have been successfully growing these varieties for years.
